Our story
Origins
Evergreen Yoga Retreats began as a quiet wish shared by a small group of people searching for a more sincere and grounded way of living. Long before it had a name, Evergreen grew from the desire to live with presence and depth, and yoga became the meeting point, not only as physical practice, but as a way of understanding ourselves and the world.
Each member of our team arrived through their own journey with yoga. These personal paths shaped the way we practiced and later the way we taught. What we all recognised was that yoga is not a technique to master. It is a process of remembering what is essential. From a small circle in Exarcheia to a wider community across Athens and Greece, Evergreen evolved through genuine relationships, steady practice, and a shared commitment to conscious living.
Growing Into a Community
As our classes and gatherings expanded, a sense of belonging emerged. People joined for the physical practice but stayed for something deeper: the experience of being seen, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. Evergreen became a space where learning flows in all directions, where teachers learn from students, and where practice adapts to the reality of daily life.
The values that shaped Evergreen presence, connection, sincerity, growth became the heart of our community. These values continue to guide our decisions, our teaching, and the way we hold space for one another. They are also the foundation of Evergreen Yoga Retreats and the reason people return to practice with us year after year.
The Emergence of Retreats
Our yoga retreats in Greece emerged naturally from the life of the studio. We understood that the depth of yoga cannot always unfold in a single hour between responsibilities. People needed time uninterrupted time to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
So we carried the practice into nature. Into forests, mountains, coastal paths, and quiet mornings where simplicity gives space for clarity. These yoga retreats became places where practice could be lived throughout the day: in movement, in silence, in conversation, and in community. They were never created as an escape. They were created as a return a way to reconnect with what often becomes hidden under the pace of routine.
How We Practice
Evergreen Yoga Retreats brings the Evergreen way into nature and into the rhythm of whole days spent together. Our retreats are rooted in Vinyasa Yoga, linking movement and breath into a steady, attentive flow. Yet the practice extends far beyond the mat. It lives in the atmosphere we create, in the quiet of early mornings, in the shared meals, in the long walks, and in the conversations that arise naturally when people feel safe and present.
Each facilitator brings their own background and passion, which is why our yoga retreats offer many different entry points into the practice. Philosophy retreats explore the inner landscape and the teachings that support clarity. Yoga and hiking retreats weave movement with the natural world, allowing mountains, forests, and paths to become part of the experience. Climbing retreats bring us into contact with trust and presence. Restorative retreats create space for healing through Thai massage, reflexology, and gentle embodied practices. Family retreats invite adults and children to experience yoga as connection and play.
Across all our retreats philosophy-based retreats, hiking retreats, climbing retreats, and restorative yoga retreats the intention remains steady: to offer grounded, sincere experiences that help people return to themselves and live with greater awareness.
Retreats Today
Today, Evergreen Yoga Retreats has become a natural extension of our community. Each retreat unfolds in small groups, shaped by the facilitator, the season, and the unique gathering of people who join. No two retreats are the same. Each one forms a temporary community held together by the shared wish to slow down, reconnect, and find clarity.
The atmosphere at our retreats is steady and unforced. People often arrive carrying the pace of modern life and gradually settle into a different rhythm. Thoughts soften, relationships deepen, and a clearer sense of self begins to emerge. Most participants describe leaving with the feeling that something meaningful has shifted not dramatically, but honestly, through a deeper recognition of what matters.
These retreats have influenced Evergreen’s evolution. They revealed that yoga expands when it is lived throughout the day, when nature becomes part of the teaching, and when community is real. Today, Evergreen Yoga Retreats continues to grow, offering yoga retreats across Greece that reflect who we are: a community devoted to presence, connection, and conscious living.
